Top accessories used by truck drivers
As a professional truck driver you know how hard it is to be on the road. Many tools that other people could consider just nice gadgets are very important to make a truck driver’s driving life easier and safer. Moreover, some of the items we describe here could be useful in a car or at home as well, because they can make a difference in situations that can happen to the professional driver but also to everyone in many occasions.
Among the most popular trucking accessories available, here we list some of the preferred tools. It’s easy to find them in most online stores like Amazon, where you can find more options for each of them.
The first item we’d like to highlight is the GPS navigator, a fundamental tool to be always sure of the route toward destination. These tools can be integrated (often with a connection to the truck radio system) or sold as standalone components. Some models are presented as specific for truck drivers, with maps and hot spots specifically designed for their needs.
To keep the small tools a truck driver may frequently need, there are boxes designed to keep out dirt and water and some models have keyed locks to protect valuables. Carefully shaped tool boxes are available that fit outside the truck and have hooks to fix them properly.
A common gadget that you can always find in commercial vehicles is a flashlight. With the current LED technology and their long lasting rechargeable batteries, these devices are very helpful because you never know when some extra light may be needed.
Just like you should have in your home or your car, a first aid kit is a very important accessory to keep readily available. The content of the kit must be complete (including band aids and ice packs) and you should periodically check it and fill it.
To carry soda cans or water bottles, a portable refrigerator is the perfect solution to have in the truck cabin. There are models that in addition to chilling can also warm their content; these portable refrigerators and warmers are the best solution to keep beverages and food at the right temperature.
There are other tools and accessories that truck drivers carry with them (mechanical tools, diagnostic code scanners, ventilators, etc.) and a specific list is usually made according to the personal need of the individual driver.
